Since the 5th Century, St Michael's has been the parish church of Michaelston-y-Fedw and a Christian presence in the local community.
In 2023, the parish of Michaelston joined with several other parishes in the area, namely Rudry, Machen, Lower Machen, Bedwas, Trethomas, Marshfield and St. Brides.
We hold regular Sunday Services at St Michael's which range from Morning Prayer to Holy Communion and all are welcome to attend - we would be so glad to see you!
We also have special events and services throughout the year.
If you need any information (such as service times, special events, baptisms, weddings or funerals), or would like to speak to someone confidentially, please get in touch with Rev. Ross Maidment or any of the contacts shown on this page.
The sound of bells is once again ringing from St Michael’s Bell Tower.
St Michael’s Church has a wonderful peal of eight bells which in recent times have largely lain silent unless visiting bell ringers came to the tower.
The coronation of King Charles III in May 2023 was the catalyst to address this situation by restarting a Michaelston bell ringing group. This was wonderfully successful with approximately 20 people ringing on Coronation Day (with help from our trainers), and local residents coming out to listen whilst enjoying refreshments from the Cefn Mably Arms.
Since then, we have rung on Remembrance Sunday and to welcome the attendees at the Christmas Carol Service.
We meet on Thursday evenings at 7.30pm and everyone is welcome. So, if you feel like making new friends whist learning a new skill (or refreshing an old one) please contact Debbie Russell (deborah.russell@talk21.com)
