This photo was taken after the James/Rymer wedding, which was in June, 1921. Ronald James had served in the Royal Flying Corps, and had been awarded the Serbian Medal, during the 1914-18 war. He had been mobilised as a reservist as part of the Government's measures to deal with the 1921 General Strike but was released and returned from Andover on the evening of 27th April in time for his wedding on 30th. The bride was Mary Rymer, the youngest of the three daughters of Alfred and Margaret Rymer of Gwernlyshon. Alfred Rymer was a Churchwarden for many years and his name appears on the brass plate attached to the church organ.
Many thanks to Philip Noel for this contribution.
